What is Reading Olympics?

The Bucks County Reading Olympics competition is held in April or May every school year.  Reading Olympics is an annual competition in which students read from a selected booklist and answer questions related to each book.  The aim is to inspire kids to become lifelong readers.  Since 1993, the Reading Olympics has been motivating students to read and discuss books.  The purpose of this event is to encourage young adults to read more than they currently do, to read a greater variety of books, and to enjoy the excitement of reading and talking about books.  The team format encourages students to share the challenge of reading the books with their friends.
