Practice will be held every day after school starting with the first day of school. Practices will run from 3:15 until the late bus arrives. When weather does not allow us to practice outside, we will practice in the gym. Since football is played in all weather, we rarely cancel practice. In the event that practice is cancelled, it will be posted on the team website and an alert will be sent on Remind 101 before the end of the school day. There will be a few times where we will hold practices that will run later than the late bus. They will be posted on the website and Remind 101 and players will need to arrange for a ride on those days.
It goes without saying that we expect every player to be at every practice. If it should come to pass that a player cannot make it to practice they need to address this with one of the coaches ahead of time. Missing multiple practices will limit or eliminate playing time. Being out of school sick is a different case. We will have to work with players to get them up to speed when they get back from an illness. We as coaches believe strongly in preparation, and being at practice every day is how players get the skills and knowledge to play effectively in a game. We also believe in commitment. Being at practice each day as coaches is our commitment, and we expect the same commitment from our players.
Games will be held immediately after school. Games will start at 3:30 and will be approximately two hours long. Players will need to arrange for a ride home. Games are usually finished around 5:30-5:45. For Away games you will have to account for travel time back to Strayer. Therefore, we may not return to Strayer until 6:00-6:15. ALL PLAYERS ARE EXPECTED TO RIDE THE BUS HOME. Away game cancellations are determined be the away team. Home game cancellation decisions are made by the Head Coach and principal in conjunction with the Athletic Secretary and must be determined around noon.
