On Social Media
Date of publication: Oct. 10, 2017
Good morning. We wanted you to be aware that this morning, one of our principals was alerted to some comments on social media that referenced violence against our schools because of the racial incidents that occurred at the football game on Friday evening. The text of the message was “I hate to say it, but it’s gone take a lot of bullets to stop these kids and their racism. I hope it doesn’t come to that, but nothing else is working.” The person who wrote the message is not from the local region. We have consulted with local law enforcement, and do not see any immediate threat to our schools or students, but we will continue to practice our normal vigilance and safety protocols to keep all our students safe. If you become aware of any additional social media messages or have any questions or concerns, please contact your principal.
