Full-Day Kindergarten in QCSD

The Quakertown Community School District implements a full day kindergarten program in the district for ALL students. QCSD is committed to the complete education of each child in our trust. Our Kindergarten classrooms provide a warm, caring learning environment that honors the unique characteristics of each child. We view time as an indispensable and dynamic investment in the invigoration of the kindergarten experience. Our goals is to help each child uncover a passion for learning and succeed to the best of his or her ability.


**IMPORTANT**

*KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION NEEDS TO BE COMPLETED BY May 31ST, 2024*

To be eligible for Kindergarten in the 2024-2025 school year, a child must be five years of age on or before August 31, 2024

All registrations will be processed through the PowerSchool Enrollment form and followed by a New Student Registration Appointment.
AFTER
you have submitted STEP 1: PowerSchool Enrollment form, THEN follow the directions for STEP 2: schedule your child's Registration Appointment. (see section below "Scheduling a Registration Appointment")
Please register early to ensure that your child attends Kindergarten in the same school as their siblings and neighborhood friends. If you currently have a child enrolled in a Quakertown school, but have NOT registered their sibling for Kindergarten by May 31st, 2024, the Kindergarten student will not be guaranteed a spot in their neighborhood school for the 2024-2025 Kindergarten year. Students not completely registered by this date will not be guaranteed a placement in their neighborhood school for the 2024-2025 Kindergarten year.



The district will conduct a parent information session about Kindergarten Registration for the 2024-25 school year. The event, hosted by the Office for Teaching and Learning, will included information on how to register your child for Kindergarten and what to expect as your child prepares to enter Kindergarten in QCSD.

PowerSchool online registration forms must be completed prior to your appointment.  Please have all documents listed below available when completing the registration forms.  You will be required to upload copies of the listed documents into the registration form. (Refer to Required Documents section below)

Step #2:

CLICK THE "SAVE & SIGN OUT" BUTTON WHEN FINISHED.
Save & Sign Out can be found by clicking the circular button with your initials on the top/right of the screen.

Note: Once your New Student Registration has been successfully processed you may only make changes to your information by contacting Quakertown Community School District directly. If your child is already enrolled, please contact your child's school for assistance.

Step #3:

Schedule your registration appointment

Please follow the instructions for scheduling an appointment below so that the Registrar has time allotted for your child's registration.

  • Register with the Appointment System website
  • Select School Registration from the "Select a Service" drop down list
  • Select the date that you prefer from the calendar
  • The available time slots will appear on the right. Select the time you prefer for the appointment
  • Your selected appointment information will appear on the right. You must select "Finalize
  • Appointment" at the bottom of the page.
  • You need a separate appointment for each child that you are registering.
  • You will receive a confirmation number and email for each appointment.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

The following 5 items are required by the State of Pennsylvania for admission into Quakertown Community School District. Acceptable documentation for each item is listed below.
1. Proof of Child's age

  • Original Birth Certificate
  • Notarized copy of birth certificate
  • Baptismal Certificate Notarized copy of baptismal certificate
  • Notarized statement from parents or another relative indicating the date of birth (accepted until the birth certificate can be obtained no longer than 60 days)
  • Valid Passport

 2. Immunizations

3. Proof of Residency

A. One of the following mandatory documents:

  • Proof of home ownership (Current deed, property tax bill, mortgage statement, if just purchasing a home in QCSD the agreement of sale or settlement paperwork can be accepted)
  • Current rental lease - please include ALL pages of the lease agreement
B. PLUS two of the following additional documents:
  • current utility bill
  • current credit card statement
  • current bank statement
  • current paycheck stub
  • public assistance or social security
  • current homeowner's or renter's insurance

(Note: All documentation must be current (dated within the last 30 days) and in the name of the parent/guardian registering the child.)


4. Parental Registration Statement (completed in the PowerSchool Enrollment form - no need to upload)


5. Home Language Survey (completed in the PowerSchool Enrollment form - no need to upload)

In addition to the above documents, the parent/guardian registering the child will be asked to provide picture identification.

 

The parent/guardian will receive a CONFIRMATION email when the registration process is complete.


 

ADDITIONAL FORMS THAT MAY BE REQUIRED

Multiple Occupancy: an application for Multiple Occupancy may be required in cases where you and your child are residing with another family within the Quakertown Community School District and you cannot provide the mandatory proof of residence documentation.

Guardianship Questionnaire: You must be the legal parent/guardian of the child you are registering. If you are not the legal parent, you must provide legal documentation to show that you are the child's guardian. If the student is living in a household of a school district resident who is not the parent or legal guardian but will assume responsibility for the student, the resident must complete this questionnaire. Registration will not be considered until the District has reviewed and approved this questionnaire. Upon review/approval, the District will provide a 1302 Affidavit to the undersigned resident and parent. The affidavit will need to be completed, signed, and notarized prior to registration.
