Chris Goerlitz and Bethanne Giampa were two of the big winners in the recent health and wellness challenge. You could be next!

Three teachers and a school nurse in the Quakertown Community School District have been awarded gift cards in a raffle for keeping track of their health and wellness.

Chris Goerlitz, a seventh grade Social Studies teacher at Strayer Middle School, won a $100 Visa gift card. Three other district employees each received $50 Visa gift cards. They are Bethanne Giampa, a second grade teacher at Trumbauersville Elementary School; Nicole Roeder, a high school English teacher; and Michelle Molyneaux, a school nurse at Quakertown Elementary School.

QCSD belongs to the Bucks and Montgomery County Schools Healthcare Consortium, which includes 22 school districts. Each year, staff members are encouraged to pursue healthy habits and take care of their personal health issues or work on preventing health issues. They can do this through utilizing the Health Advocate website, and earn points through various activities.

Points are earned by: tracking exercise, eating and sleep habits; taking a workshop on a health topic of interest; completing a personal health profile; completing their biometric screening; and participating in challenges.

And with the new year comes a new challenge. The Post-Holiday Hustle can help get you exercising so that you can get back in shape! During this challenge, you will aim to exercise for 150 minutes each week for four weeks. The challenge begins on Jan. 8 and concludes on Feb. 2.

There will be a raffle for 10 top prizes worth $50 each. Winners will be able to choose their prize from a list, including:

  • Hand and Stone gift certificate
  • Visa gift card
  • Wawa gift card
  • Dick's gift card
  • In Touch Massage gift certificate
  • Fresh Market gift card
  • Whole Foods gift card

The challenge is open to individuals who are covered with District insurance through the Bucks and Montgomery County Schools Healthcare Consortium. Those members may join the challenge by going to https://members.healthadvocate.com/
