Investigation of threats continues, and thank you
Posted on 03/19/2021
Good evening QCSD parents and guardians. Before heading into the weekend, I wanted to give you an update on the threats that were made to both Strayer Middle School and Quakertown Community High School in the last two weeks, even though I do not really have new information to report. The investigation is ongoing. School Resource Officers Bob Lee and Brian Hendrzak have spearheaded the investigation, with support from their respective police departments and in collaboration with regional and state law enforcement. Their efforts cannot be overstated, and we are very grateful for their work and service to our school community. While we do not have details to share, we are confident that the individual(s) responsible for disrupting our school community will be identified, and most importantly, that our schools are safe.

Receiving tips that threaten the safety of your children and our school employees has created stress for everyone within our school community. We are certain you are feeling it, as are we. Please know that each action we have taken, whether it be locking down a building or closing it, has been made in consultation with our law enforcement partners, and with the safety of students and school employees at the forefront. We have greatly appreciated your patience and support throughout this challenging time.

Please take this opportunity to talk with your children, and to remind them of the importance of watching their words and action in the digital world. Everything they do online leaves a digital footprint behind, which ultimately can be traced. If your children have any information about the threatening tips that were received, please contact Officer Lee, Officer Hendrzak, or your building principal.

On behalf of the school district administration, we thank you again for your patience and understanding throughout this difficult process. Thank you for continuing to trust us with the task of educating your children in a safe environment. We will update the community again when there are further developments and it is appropriate to do so.

Enjoy your weekend.
