Elementary school Family Nights, which provided Quakertown Community School District parents an opportunity to build strong relationships with their children, are returning this school year in an online format.

The first of seven monthly events, free to all elementary school families in QCSD, is scheduled for Tuesday, October 20th, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The programs are hosted by the Family To Family Initiative, a cooperative program between Bucks County Children and Youth Social Services and the Family Service Association of Bucks County.

“With the COVID-19 pandemic creating stresses for everyone, these events are more important than ever,” Quakertown Elementary School Principal Dr. Michael Zackon said. “I’m excited our families will again have this opportunity to get information from experts on better ways to cope with family life during these unique times. They’ll learn about the local resources available to them right here in our community. When families are engaged in their children’s education, it helps their students become better learners. Ultimately, that’s what this is all about.”

The focus of the October 20th Family Night is “Tips & Tricks For Virtual School Days” and will feature an interactive conversation regarding virtual schooling during the pandemic. It can be found on Family Service’s Facebook Page. You may register at www.facebook.com/FamilyServiceBucks and click “Going” on the event to register.

Additional Family Nights have been scheduled for November 17, December 15, January 19, February 16, March 16 and April 20.
