Jordan Meyers: Upper Bucks County Technical School's April, 2018, student of the month

Jordan Meyers
Student of the Month
April 2018

Jordan was a freshmen when she started in the Health Occupations program. She was excited to be one of the many Quakertown students that were allowed to start their technical school programs as a freshmen. She was inspired early on by her aunt, who teaches the blind. She always knew that she wanted to help people and loves interacting with the families of those that she cares for.

"Over the past four years, Jordan has proven herself to be a student every teacher dreams of. Without question, Jordan is willing to do anything she is asked! Jordan is hardworking, punctual, dedicated and always strives to be the best she can be. Jordan has excelled in everything she has done and has grown into a valuable member of the health care community. Last year after escorting a guest speaker to the class, they were so impressed with Jordan's personality and communication skills, she was encouraged to apply at Living Branches. Jordan went through the interview process and was hired as a Nutritional Aid at Living Branches. This year, after she passed the Nurse Aide exam, they did not want her to move her into a Nurse Aide position because they did not want to lose her as a Nutritional Aid. This speaks volumes about Jordan's work ethic and professionalism. Jordan is now on CO-OP as a Nurse Aide at Living Branches and the feedback from her employer has been nothing but positive," said health teacher Stacy Strunk.

Jordan is drawn to geriatrics and hopes to continue working for the elderly. She said she loves listening to their stories and insight on life. Jordan said that they love to give her life advice and she cherishes all the time she spends with them.

Jordan's love of health care has led her to want to earn her BSN. She plans on starting with her Associates Degree in Nursing at BCCC. She then plans on transferring to Moravian for her RN and then her BSN.

Jordan has been a positive ball of energy while here at UBCTS. We will miss her and wish her the best of luck as she chases her passion!
