During holiday season, remember Quakertown Cares

Quakertown Cares has been providing aid to the school district’s most economically disadvantaged families for more than 22 years since the charity’s founding in 1995 by the school district, Quakertown National Bank, Quakertown Free Press, and other community, business and religious groups.

During the recent year, Cares aided more than 400 recipients. They include not only school families, but also preschool families, senior citizens, and veterans, based on contributions of $50,032.

Here’s some of what Quakertown Cares does:

  • Sponsors elementary-aged children in the Shop With A Cop Program, operated by local police departments.
  • Supports seventh graders who would not otherwise be able to attend Outdoor School.
  • Provides Quakertown Community School District with $15,000 in Target gift cards for distribution during the holiday season.
  • Partners with Classic Staffing and Oldcastle Lawn and Garden to distribute 100 turkeys with fixings during Thanksgiving week.

Quakertown Cares is an all-volunteer, local charity with no administrative expenses. Every dollar contributed goes to neighbors in need.

Contributions may be mailed to Quakertown Cares, c/o QNB, P.O. Box 9005, Quakertown, PA 18951, or be dropped off at any QNB branch. Contributions are tax-deductible.
