How much are students expected to read?
Below you will see the grade your student is entering and the recommended time spent reading over the summer.

Kindergarten
Read (or be read to) 3 times a week for at least 10 minutes per session.

1st grade
Read (or be read to) 3 times a week for at least 10 minutes per session.

2nd grade
Read 3 times a week for at least 10 minutes per session.

3rd grade
Read 3 times a week for at least 15 minutes per session.

4th grade
Read 4 times a week for at least 15 minutes per session.

5th grade
Read 4 times a week for at least 20 minutes per session.

What should students read?
Use the lists below as a starting point, but students are not limited to these lists.
