SRO Appreciation day

Today, we want to recognize two extraordinary leaders who help keep our schools safe, supported, and connected every single day — Officer Bob Lee and Officer Brian Hendrzak.

Since 2015, Officer Bob Lee of the Quakertown Borough Police Department has been a cornerstone of safety at the Quakertown Community School District. In the wake of a tragic school shooting, Officer Lee helped establish QCSD’s School Resource Officer program after the District was awarded a grant from the Department of Education. His leadership and vision laid the foundation for the strong safety partnership our schools rely on today.

Serving at Quakertown Community High School, Officer Lee brings extensive experience and specialized training to his role. He is a certified ALICE/Navigate instructor, leading lockdown and safety drills to ensure staff and students are prepared. As a certified Safe School Assessor through the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime & Delinquency, he conducts assessments designed to make schools even more secure. He is also trained through the Bucks County Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) program, equipping him with de-escalation skills to support individuals experiencing mental health challenges. Beyond QCSD, Officer Lee serves as a per diem instructor at the Temple University Police Academy, helping train the next generation of law enforcement professionals.

For the past eight years, Officer Brian Hendrzak has been a steady, trusted presence at Strayer Middle School. Introduced as the District’s second School Resource Officer through a partnership between QCSD and the Richland Township Police Department, Officer Hendrzak stepped into his role with dedication and heart.

Serving alongside Officer Lee, Officer Hendrzak has strengthened safety and security across the district while building meaningful relationships with students and staff. In addition to completing specialized SRO training, he serves daily not only as a first responder, but as an educator, mentor, and role model. His impact goes far beyond safety — fostering trust, encouraging positive connections, and helping create an environment where learning thrives.

In honor of School Resource Officer Day, we want to extend our deepest gratitude to Officer Lee and Officer Hendrzak for their leadership, professionalism, partnership, and unwavering commitment to the students, staff, and families of QCSD.

We are truly grateful for all you do to protect, guide, and support our school community.
