The Quakertown Community School District Board of School Directors passed a resolution to provide a tax rebate to qualifying firefighters and first responders on Thursday, April 23, 2026.
The resolution, which passed 9-0, allows firefighters and first responders to qualify for up to a $500 rebate on their school taxes.
"This resolution allows the Quakertown Community School District to provide recognition and relief to the brave, dedicated volunteers who help protect our neighborhoods, while also extending incentives for enrollment and participation in these vital local fire departments," said Board member Joe Lyons, who brought the resolution to the Board after input from the fire departments.
