Join us in congratulating QCHS seniors Aeryn Tuck and Vaughn Wagner for being named National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists in the 72nd annual National Merit Scholarship Program!
Out of more than 1.2 million entrants nationwide, these extraordinary Panthers scored in the top 1% of high school seniors, placing them among approximately 16,000 Semifinalists across the country. They are now officially in the running to compete for approximately 6,700 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $24 million!
When asked what advice they would offer to younger students hoping to achieve their goals, Vaughn encouraged his fellow Panthers to embrace the challenges that come with doing difficult things. “The only real barrier stopping you is the pain that comes with doing something difficult. If you can push through, you can achieve anything,” he said.
Aeryn offered some practical advice for students planning their high school journey: start thinking about AP course selections early and work closely with your advisors to build a schedule that avoids conflicts, especially during your senior year.
