Dear QCHS Families and Community Members,
Friday night football is one of the best traditions in our community, and we want every game to be a safe, welcoming experience for the thousands of students, families, alumni, and fans who attend.
Unfortunately, at three of our recent home games, students were found in possession of alcohol. Recent safety incidents at other area events have also reminded all of us how important careful entry procedures are. These are serious concerns, and they are ones we cannot solve alone. With an average crowd of just over 3,000 people at each game, keeping our stadium safe takes all of us: school staff, security, families, and the wider community.
The following new entry procedures will be strictly enforced at our remaining home games, including our traditional Thanksgiving game:
There will be two entry lines: one for guests without bags, and one for guests with bags. Guests carrying bags should expect delays
Backpacks are not permitted in the stadium. All other bags will be searched. This includes purses and bags of any size. We strongly encourage everyone to leave bags and purses at home.
No outside food or beverages will be permitted, with one exception: factory-sealed, unopened plastic water bottles.
Reusable and insulated containers, such as Yetis, Stanleys, tumblers, and thermoses, will not be permitted, even if empty.
Please plan to arrive early and allow extra time to get through the gates.
Additional safety measures:
Increased staff presence at the entrances and in the student section.
Close coordination with security and the Quakertown Police Department.
Zero tolerance for serious infractions, including alcohol, drugs, vapes, drug paraphernalia, weapons, and other prohibited items. Any students involved will be removed from the game, parents or guardians will be contacted, and consequences will be applied to the fullest extent of the Student Code of Conduct. Consequences may include suspension from school and loss of eligibility to attend school dances, including prom, and other school events and activities.
Here is how you can help:
Please talk with your child about expectations before they attend a game.
Know who your child is going with and how they are getting there and home.
If you are attending, help us model the positive, family-friendly atmosphere our community is known for.
If you see something, say something. At the game, alert any staff member, security officer, or police officer right away. Before a game, contact the school or report anonymously through Safe2Say Something.
After the season, we will also invite students, parents, coaches, boosters, and community partners to help shape our game-day expectations for next year. More information will follow.
Thank you for your patience and partnership in keeping Panther football safe and enjoyable for everyone.
Sincerely,
Dr. Mattias van ’t Hoenderdaal
