The Quakertown Community School District has been recognized by the Pennsylvania Positive Behavior Support (PaPBS) Network for achieving Tier 1 and Tier 2 implementation. This recognition reflects our district’s strong commitment to creating schools where students feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.
What does that mean for families?
The PaPBS Network supports schools across Pennsylvania in using a framework called Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS). PBIS focuses on teaching, modeling, and recognizing positive behavior—just like we do with academic skills. Instead of simply reacting to challenges, PBIS helps schools proactively set clear expectations and support students socially, emotionally, and behaviorally.
Through PaPBS, schools receive:
Training and coaching to help staff consistently teach and reinforce positive behaviors
Guidance and support to create strong, school-wide systems that promote respect, responsibility, and safety
Data-driven strategies to support students who may need additional help
Recognition for schools that successfully implement these practices
PaPBS emphasizes:
School-Wide PBIS for all students
Program-Wide PBIS in early childhood settings
Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) that align behavior and academic supports
For families, this recognition means your child is learning in an environment where positive behavior is encouraged, expectations are clear, and support is provided at every level. It also reflects the shared partnership between our staff, students, and families in building respectful, engaging, and inclusive school communities.
We are proud of this achievement and grateful for the continued collaboration that helps every QCSD student succeed—academically, socially, and emotionally.
