The Trumbauersville Elementary PCR Committee—short for Perseverance, Compassion, and Respect—is working hard to make PSSA testing as fun as possible for their fellow classmates.

This creative, student-led group, made up of representatives from 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades, meets monthly to collaborate on ways to give back to their school community while also supporting their peers. Whether they’re planning service initiatives or school-wide activities, the committee consistently focuses on fostering a supportive and encouraging environment at TES.

With PSSA testing coming up, the committee began brainstorming thoughtful ways to support their classmates. Students shared a variety of ideas for PSSA-themed spirit days, including “Flower Power,” where classmates could wear bright colors and symbols of peace, and a “Baseball Day,” encouraging students to represent their favorite teams.

However, one idea stood out above the rest. The committee unanimously agreed that a cozy-themed day—featuring sweatpants and sweatshirts—was exactly what their classmates needed to help them feel relaxed and confident. Their message was simple but meaningful: “Don’t Sweat the Test.”
In addition to planning spirit days, the students also took the initiative to design and create encouraging posters to display throughout the hallways of the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade areas. Featuring uplifting messages like “Believe in yourself—you’ve got this,” these student-created reminders are sure to boost morale and remind everyone that they are prepared and capable.

Thank you to the PCR Team for your continued support of your fellow classmates and community!
