Garden Club meets every Monday and Thursday 2:30-4:30pm.
Students will gather in Mr. Stoverink's room (C202) from 2:30-2:40, then head to the project area of the day.
-In the event of inclement weather, we will stay indoors and work with house-plants
In this club we:
-Propagate (start new) plants from seed or by cloning plants.
-Manage and care for plants indoors in windows and under lights, in a greenhouse setting, and in an outdoor garden space.
-Compost food scraps given to us from the culinary classes.
-Grow herbs, microgreens, and various other edible plants for the culinary classes.
-Grow native flowers that provide ecosystem services
-Grow indoor houseplants for pleasure and relaxation.
-Sell plants to raise funds for club needs.
-Learn to recognize and identify various plant species.
