How to backup your data to Google Drive

Did you know you have a place that has unlimited storage to back-up your files or folders. This

is the last year for teacher laptops and to start saving your files to Google Drive follow the directions below.

1. Go to your Google Drive, if you don't know where to find it click here ->. Google Drive Link

2. Select 'New' which is the red button on the upper right hand corner.

3. Then select "upload file" or "upload folder" (The type of data you can save are photos, documents, and videos)

4. After you make your selection a progress window on the bottom of the screen will appear.

This will provide you with the current status of your backup.

How to turn on CAP LOCK on a Google ChromeBook

To activate CAP LOCK hold down Shift + Search key ( looks like a magnifying glass ) and the same to turn it off.

  • Paste or Type this in your Google Chrome address bar : chrome://settings/languages
  • In the left hand pane select " English (United States), English ( Vereinigte Staaten), Ingles (Estados Unidos), Anglais (Etats Unis)".
  • If you don't see English as an option then click the ‘Add' button below and select the language you want.
  • Click the button "Display Google Chrome in this language", this will be in the right pane. After this you might have to restart the Chromebook.



How to change the language settings in Chrome

1. Paste or Type this in your Google Chrome address bar : chrome://settings/languages

2. In the left hand pane select " English (United States), Englisch ( Vereinigte Staaten),

Ingles (Estados Unidos), Anglais (Etats Unis)".

3. If you don't see English as an option then select the ‘Add' button below and select the language you want.

4. Click the button "Display Google Chrome in this language", this will be in the right pane. After this you might have to restart the Chromebook.




Apps not working in Chrome….try this

If the apps you downloaded are not working properly it can be because of bad apps downloaded from the

Chrome store. The first thing you should try is disabling app extensions.

  1. Click on the menu icon "≡" located in the upper right corner of Chrome browser.

  2. Then scroll down to "More tools" then select "Extensions".

  3. Disable all extensions by unchecking the enable box.




Missing Apps and settings in Chrome…..Try resyncing user account.

  1. Click the Chrome menu Menu in the upper right-hand side of window.

2. Scroll down and select ‘Settings'

    a. Google Chrome (Windows). Under the "Sign in" section, you'll see a link called Google Dashboard, select it. Then scroll to the bottom of the page and select "Resync" then sign-out of Chrome and sign-in again.

    b. Google Chrome (Chromebooks) - In settings scroll down the page click the link "show advance settings". Under the section called "User" you'll see a link for Dashboard, select it. Then scroll to the bottom of the page and select "Resync" then sign-out of Chrome and sign-in again.




My Google account settings are different on each computer

This issue might be happening due to inconsistent auto-syncs with Google, to resolve this follow these steps.

Set up sync on your Chromebook:

1. Click the Chrome menu Menu icon, upper left hand corner of the Chrome browser.

2. Click Settings

3. In the "Users" section, click Set up sync.




Apps not working in Chrome….Uninstalling Chrome Extensions

If the apps you downloaded are not working properly it can be because of bad apps downloaded
