Fun for all on 50th Class Reunion Weekend
50 Years...My how time flies when you're having fun. And FUN we did have! After a year of planning, the QCHS Class of 1968 held a 50th Class Reunion weekend on Saturday September 29 and Sunday, September 30, 2018. On Saturday morning 66 people (44 classmates and 22 guests) attended a continental breakfast at the high school, and were given a guided tour by Principal David Finnerty. Things sure have changed in 50 years, almost unrecognizable, but the changes are very impressive. A group photo was taken by the electronic sign welcoming the "Class of '68". Was it a coincidence that the temperature was registering 68°? We also had some classmates get together and play 18 holes of golf.
In the afternoon, we gathered at West End Pub in Quakertown for a casual social time of fellowship. We had a total of 57 people attend (38 classmates and 19 guests). Even though the power went out, it didn't dim our spirits. A great time was had by all who attended.
On Sunday afternoon we had our reunion party at PineCrest Country Club in Lansdale. A total of 102 people attended (68 classmates and 34 guests). After a cocktail hour, we began with a videotaped introduction from the beach, by one of our resident pastors, which culminated in a remembrance of our 34 deceased classmates and advisor, which were also honored with a pictorial memory tree. We looked over both elementary and high school pictures and memorabilia, had a delicious meal, and enjoyed plenty of wonderful fellowship, which also included a photo booth to record our friendships and memories of the day. All attendees received a booklet of personal information provided by classmates. Plenty of fond memories and fun was had by all. Another four years till it's time to start planning our 55th reunion!
