Wall of Fame

The Quakertown Community High School Wall of Fame honors and respects individual graduates who have brought lasting fame to QCHS as a result of their post-secondary accomplishments.

To be eligible for the QCHS Wall of Fame, a nominee must meet these criteria:

  • Be a graduate of Quakertown High School or Quakertown Community High School;
  • Have graduated at least 10 years previously;
  • Have demonstrated exceptional career achievement and/or contributed significantly to the welfare of the Quakertown community and beyond;
  • Not be a previous recipient of the Gold Key Award;
  • Individual alumni may not nominate themselves;
  • There shall be a maximum of three recipients per year.

The credentials of a candidate shall be submitted on the nomination form to the QCHS Principal.

  • March 3 - Nomination forms must be received by the QCHS Principal Mattias van 't Hoenderdaal.
  • May  - successful candidates will be notified.
  • June - Awardees recognized at the Alumni Association meeting

Individual alumni selected shall be recognized at the annual meeting of the Quakertown High School Alumni Association. As inclusion on the Wall of Fame replaces the Gold Key Award of the Alumni Association one section of the Wall of Fame shall be reserved for Gold Key recipients.

From 1944 to 2015, more than 50 recipients received the Gold Key Award. Since then, the Wall of Fame was created and currently houses five recipients:

2016 Quakertown Wall of Fame Inductee

Gary David Holland, Class of 1963

Bloomsburg State College with a major in Biology. Deployed in Vietnam January, 1968.

Private First Class Gary David Holland was killed by enemy forces, February 9, 1968 in Binh Duong, Vietnam. He is honored on the Vietnam War Memorial in Washington, DC.

2016 Quakertown Wall of Fame Inductee

Cary Krause, Class of 1984

1989 Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics (Operational Analysis)

Captain Krause is currently serving as a senior Inspector to the Board on Inspection and Survey in Little Creek, VA.

2016 Quakertown Wall of Fame Inductee

Jay F. Kirkpatrick, Class of 1958

East Stroudsburg State College with a Bachelor and Master's degrees in Biological Science and a PhD from Veterinary College, Cornell University.

Dr. Jay F. Fitzpatrick devoted his career to wildlife preservation and protection and served as Director for the "In Defense of Endangered Species" organization.

1992 Troy State University Master of Science in Counseling

Craig M. Thatcher, Class of 1974

Craig M. Thatcher has achieved worldwide acclaim for his expertise in guitar music.

The Martin Guitar Company selected him as a teacher and performer.

He has been generous in sharing his talent to benefit various charitable causes.
